Founded in 1972, Irrimec needs no introduction to the agricultural sector in KwaZulu-Natal. For over 40 years Irrimec has provided innovation, performance and productivity in the business of agriculture and sugar in the KZN region and the company has worked with some of the industry’s most respected people.

In 2008 African Access Agricultural Holdings(AAAH), a subsidiary of the African Access Group bought 51% percent of IRRIMEC. African Access Agricultural Holdings will make its weight felt particularly in helping to provide access to and to spread the Irrimec  offerings to the emerging farmers of the region – helping the smallscale, subsistence farmers in local communities to become more commercially and market orientated farmers.
Irrimec has been involved in major agricultural projects and its knowledge of sugar cane growing, agriculture in general, a vision for the future and an ability to work successfully with others, places this company as an asset in an industry that still has many challenges to confront.

Over the years the management and staff of Irrimec have accumulated an extensive knowledge of the climate, soils and crops of the KZN region and have built up the reputation of providing sound agronomic consulting services and training for local communities.
